Community Guidelines

1. Be human, useful and respectful

• Disagree with ideas without attacking, degrading or organizing harassment against people.
• Do not target anyone because of race, caste, religion, nationality, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or another protected trait.
• Do not threaten, glorify or coordinate violence or self-harm.
• Do not publish another person’s private contact, financial, identity, medical or location information.

2. Keep content lawful and authentic

• Do not impersonate people, businesses, temples, organizations or AmericaDesi staff.
• Do not post scams, deceptive fundraising, counterfeit offers, manipulated evidence or coordinated spam.
• Post only media and words you have the right to share. Respect copyright, trademarks and publicity rights.
• Do not use Desi Scene to sell regulated, illegal or dangerous goods or services.

3. Protect minors and sexual safety

• Desi Scene membership is limited to people age 18 or older.
• Sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual solicitation, or sexual content involving minors is prohibited.
• Do not use the community to groom, exploit or endanger a minor.

4. Recommendations and local information

• Be honest about personal, family, employment or financial connections to a business or event.
• Do not fabricate reviews, attendance, endorsements, prices, availability or community support.
• Time-sensitive information should include enough context for readers to verify it.

5. Promotion and sponsored content

Businesses and organizations must follow the Desi Scene Promotion Rules. Paid reach never purchases a verification badge, favorable moderation or immunity from these Guidelines.

6. Enforcement

AmericaDesi may reduce distribution, quarantine, remove or preserve evidence of content; warn or restrict accounts; suspend or ban members; and refer credible threats or unlawful activity when appropriate. Decisions use deterministic rules, measured evidence and trained human review where required. Automated tools may assist but do not replace accountability.

Available sanctions may include warnings, posting restrictions, commenting restrictions, read-only access, suspension and ban. Serious conduct may skip progressive steps.

7. Reports and appeals

Use reporting for genuine safety, authenticity, privacy, copyright or spam concerns—not retaliation. Suspended or banned members may receive a narrowly limited, time-bound appeal session after identity verification. Repeated abusive reports or appeal fraud may itself be enforced.

8. Emergencies

Desi Scene is not an emergency service. Contact local emergency services when someone faces immediate danger. Do not rely on a community post for urgent medical, legal, safety or financial intervention.
